Consider being a mentor to a young parent.
Christian Counseling Service is seeking church families who are willing to mentor young, high-risk parents (ages 14-25).
This program seeks to help young parents to succeed and to create a stable
environment for their children.
Mentor parents will participate in a one-day training program and will meet with their mentee family one hour a week for six months.
A stipend will be provided to cover costs of activities such as dinners out and special events.
Mentor parents will have the support of clinical staff from CCS, who will also organize the first several mentor-mentee group activities.

Take an opportunity in July and August to attend a summer Fellowship BBQ.
It’s a wonderful time to get together and meet others from our church family.

You are not alone if you are becoming increasingly responsible for the care of your parents or loved ones.
To meet that need, we provide support to individuals and families caught in the dilemma of
caring for aging family members or other loved ones.
Discussions are facilitated by Doris R. Radford who co-founded the program with Jo Ann Little in 1994.
Doris was a health insurance and advocacy counselor, and a parent caregiver. She is knowledgeable in current health
care issues and other related care giving matters.

this special night and will receive a complimentary meal. We will have an opportunity to recognize your birthday and offer our prayers for you.

Need to clear out some space in your house? The youth at First Baptist would be happy to help.
We’re raising money to send the youth to our summer retreat on Catalina Island.
So, if you have household items you’d like to give, we’ll be receiving donations in our church parking lot on
Saturday, June 19. Those donations will go to Goodwill Industries, and they in turn, will donate money to us
(up to $2,000 if we can fill a 28-foot truck).
Early donations can be dropped off at the church on:
•Sunday mornings
•Any weekday during office hours 9-4 (please call the office before coming).
• The church Lounge will be open to drop off items on June 16-18 from 6-8:00 p.m..
•Call to schedule a pick up at your home.
